NaNoWriMo Update Three:A Look at My First Draft.
Though I am still working nearly three hours a day, the endless love and support I experienced on my Birthday has given me the strength and courage I need to continue on my heroic task of working on my novel and blogging.
In just the few weeks of NaNoWriMo, I have already come up with the most important part of any novel: Words. The speed at which I am making progress suggests that my work is destined to occupy a special place in the universe.
My novel is going to have it all: A strong start with a captivating open leading quickly to romance (“Uxoriousness”) (“connivance”); An exciting twist (“ersatz”) and noodles (“noodles”). It also contains words that are so impressive that they aren’t in my two volume shorter OED (‘nyktomorphic’).
While you can't preorder it yet from amazon, you can spread the word that my novel is coming soon.

Cool blog; I'll check back soon.
Okay kool!
I just hope I will be able to read your novel with all the big words.
Oh well, I will suffer little pain in looking up the words that I do not know.
By the way, what other books etc have you written.
Good luck!
Foolishly affectionate submissiveness to one's wife which causes adultery involving artificial pasta. That all sounds good, but what in blue blazes is nyktomorphic?
When Goldennib uses old timey sayings like blue blazes, she sounds very nyktomorphic.
Everyday in everyway, Justin becomes more and more like DFW. I needed an OED for his novel too. What's the use, though, if nyktomorphic isn't in it? Hal wouldn't be pleased.
OK, mister smarty pants, Comrade Kevin, give over. Oh, btw, I used the word sheenanigins in an office memo two weeks ago and people are still commenting, especially the twenty-somethings. he, he.
And if Jenn doesn't know what "that word" means then I don't as stupid as I did before.
Happy Thanksgiving. Come see my attack hand turkey, Charlie.
...feel...
i really loved chapter 4.. i am reading it again..third time actually..so true..and i kind of couldnt help sitting back and thinking about my own life..
you have beautiful handwriting.
minty, Cool cooment. I'll read it again later. J.
webbyte, Right now you just have to worry about looking up the words on the list. I don't know too many others. J.
goldennib, When I write, I follow my gut. I don't have to 'know' what words 'mean.' J
Comrade K: I thought Blue Blazes was some kkind of Hip, MTV phrase. I've never heard it before, in all my many years. j.
jenn,
Hal, you will recall, had the full set. Whereas me: Just the Shorter Two Volume. j.
mind curry,
That is exactly the kind of reaction I expected to get from the epilogue.
But still an artist can't plan for how his audience is going to react. I'm just glad it is making a difference. J.
P.S. And I'm already thinking about a sequel.
alecia, Thanks. I get that a lot. J.
alecia,
O.K. maybe not a lot, but often.
j.
alecia,
Actually no one has ever said that before. Did you even look at my handwriting?
