One of my closest friends, part-time buddha writes in yesterday's comments, "I can't tell if you're becoming more ironic or just plain crazy."
My initial response was to say I don't know either, but than I realized what I should have said is that "I know I am crazy." Crazy people never admit there crazy. Argal, if I admit that I am crazy I can not be.
I let it go until the evening when, I was flipping through the Oxford English Dictionary, as is my custom looking for typos and spelling erors. That's when I came across the word "Irony." I never thought to look it up and so I was suprised to see that the definition is, "Consisting of or containing iron; of the nature of or resembling iron." See picture.
Sure, I have unbelievably firm abs, but I'm not actually made of iron. What did part-time buddha say? Two options: irony or crazy. I am not made of iron. Argal...
Well,my dearest readers, not every post has an easy answer. Life isn't like one of those sitcoms where everything is wrapped up in 23 minutes. Sometimes, at the end of the day, questions must be left unresolved. And that is precisely how I felt as I wrote in my journal wondering could I really be made of iron?

I love it!
You've got a great blog here. Check mine out!
In Him,
David
You're so irony, I need to take a laxative every time I read you.
Just ran across your blog but I think I'll check back often. Totally enjoyed the dream about the plane and home schooled kid...actually laughed out loud...it was pretty awkward because my office was full of people. It's ok - I've learned to embrace and celebrate awkwardness. Thanks for the joy!
You're journal looks a lot like several pieces of loose paper or various napkins that I've discarded at one time or another. And I am crazy; I know this. In true Hellerian fashion, I'm trying to convince everyone else of this as to escape this Catch-22. So far, I'm having the same luck as Yossarian. Hope the crazy/irony conundrum works out for you!
I think if you have to ask yourself if you're crazy then maybe you're more sane than most of us who think we're not crazy. Good luck with that.
But Jody, this is the thing I keep thinking about: Most people don't ask themselves if they are iron. Does that mean they are more or less iron-y than me?
No, Justin. I think we all contain the same ratio of crazy/iron. We're made of the stuff--Iron everywhere. When God created Adam there was definitely Iron in the lump of minerals and clay. The Crazy element just sort of evolved, I think.
I'll point out that there is iron in your blood. So perhaps, to answer the question that began this existential exploration into the matethan crazy.
Of course, in true American fashion, no one has questioned the sanity of the questioner. That may be the better place for all of this to begin.
Does it matter?
If it does and you would prefer to veer towards the iron-y side of the equation you should eat more greens. Spinach, for preference.
Did you highlight an OED?
Lisa:
I highlighted my own OED. Compact 2 vol. Someday, I'll get the whole thing. Know any good deals?
Also, thanks a lot for not adding me to myspace. Usually this blog is about iron-y, but I'm expressing my hurt vis-a-vis relentless sarcasm.
Justin
Have you really become hip enough for myspace? If you have, maybe I'll add you, but I'm not sure if I can be myspace friends with an OED highlighter though...
Oh, and I checked around for you...Amazon.com has the OED for only $1,500...
Interesting picture....

being irony is good - embrace it, we have iron in our blood to move the oxygen so we can breath, and iron is stored in little balls of rust all around the body . (sorry second year science student, i forget that the rest of the world isnt made of science nerds like me who would find that interesting)
anyway my point is ... well actually i dont have one, but unless your a character in Xmen2 being irony probally isnt a bad thing
at long last, a blog that increased my "blog-reading span" to more than three sentences!!! Yay to you! I shall be visiting your blog often. :D
