My Other Project

When I am not working on my Autobiography,I have been working on,"The Divine Comedy: A New Translation." Doubtless, Dante is dancing in his grave. One of the things that is going to set this particular translation apart is that I am translating the whole thing not only into English, but into Haiku. That makes the task all the harder, but just the same I am up to it. Here's a sample from the opening Canto:

Midway on Justin's journey
I found myself lost
In woods, the right road lost--D'Oh!

Obviously that last line was tricky, b/c haiku is a very rigid form: you must have 7 syllables. But I adapted rather nicely and believe this is going to shape up into a fairly significant literary event.
