YOU CAN HELP--WORD DRIVE 2006

On Thursday night, a brief review of the Word Bank revealed that conceptofirony is running dangerously low. Standard operations (to say nothing of a crisis) could completely deplete our word supply.

PLEASE DO NOT BE ALARMED EVEN THOUGH THIS IS THE WORST THING TO EVER HAPPEN TO CONCEPTOFIRONY AND MAY MEAN THE DESTRUCTION OF THIS BLOG.

If each of my readers could find it in their hearts to donate even three words that can be used next week than conceptofirony will have at least, I'm guestimating here...nine words. Which is a start.

Your words can make a difference. Please consider if you can't give in one of these high priority areas (english only, please):

1)Nouns
2)Pronouns
3)the thing where it means a verb is pretending to be a noun??
4)verbs
5)the thing where the word is what is affected by the verb???
6)phrases
7)Foreign phrases that would make me sound debonair (please provide translations)
8)Sounds

Spelling counts, but not for much.

IF YOU CAN'T HELP, I COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND. WHAT WITH THE RECENT LOSS OF MY AUDREY AND THE MORE RECENT LOSS OF VARIOUS IMPORTANT GOVN'T DOCUMENTS, IT ISN'T A BIG DEAL IF I LOSE MY BLOG TO WHAT IS ALMOST CERTAINLY THE GREATEST DISEASE OF MODERN TIMES: WORDLESSNESS.

Thank you for your time and have a nice a day.

1)Keith, Geico Gecko, Snickers, (obviously the T.V. is in commercial mode in the background), Intersate-10.
2) He, She, them
3)-- I'll have to get back to you on this one.
4) Sleep, write, lounge, eat, type, watch. These can be action, state of being, or helping verbs.
5) Maybe this refers to transitive and intransitive verbs?
6)"bored at work!" "laughing at your blog." Is this what you had in mind?
7) Swedish is a sweet language. Anything you say will work. Here goes; "God morgon. Vad heter ni?" Good morning. What is yoru name? or maybe "Tack sa mycket. Skal!" Thank you very much. Cheers!
8)haha! boo. Rumble rumble.

I think I've contributed my part. Enjoy. :-)

PS: Thanks for the laugh
PSS: I agree with Stephan that this is just a loan and you can't keep these words. Maybe the Swedish. Yeah, you can have the Swedish.

I'll lend you a couple of foreign words which sound debonair, and are hard to translate into English. They are:

1) saudade - a Portuguese word meaning nostalgia or longing, but really not

2) hygge - a Danish word meaning a cozy, hanging with friends just being feeling, but more

Hope that helps! ;-)
