Long Titles Stink: Volume 3

A lot of you have probably been wondering why the KGB and the CIA couldn't just get alone. The answer is simple: they have to prevent each other's countries from world domination.

In order to do that intelligence agencies worked very hard to influence public opinions and the opinions of world leaders.

According to this book, the third world became a significant battleground for each. Latin America was especially significant for both groups, because of the potential of a scenario where the US would have an enemy in our 'backyard.'

This would be bad because the U.S. has a hard enough time mowing its backyard, let alone trying to mow it with a lousy enemy there.

Also, that would be hugely advantageous for the soviet union in the event of a war.

Is War a good idea? Well we can survey some of the great minds to see what kinds of opinions have been set forth:

On the pacifist side, those who think war and violence unnecessary, we have:
1)Leo Tolstoy
2)Ghandi
3)Martin Luther King
4)Bertrand Russell
5)Albert Einstein

On the Militaristic side we have:
1) Stormin‘ Norman Schwarzkopf,
2) Rambo
3) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turles
4) G.I. Joe
5) Darth Vader

There is definitely a division amongst the intellectual community as to how to approach violence.

Now get ready for the cliff hanger ending. Bloggers use these to keep the reader in suspense, so as to encourage today's audience to come back for more tomorrow.

Appparently during the last fifty years, the second list dominated. For in the final chapter of 'The World Was Going Our Way' it documents the Great War between Russia and the U.S. Turns out the whole world was destroyed.

You forgot George W. Bush.

I recommend putting him below Rambo, but above the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
