THE POSTS MIGHT AS WELL BE LONG SINCE THANKSGIVING MAKES THIS A THREE DAY WORK WEEK: PART A OF AN A,B,C SERIES:PART A: AGING

As has been my custom for the last thousand years, I celebrated my Birthday this weekend by moaning and groaning.

Near immortality—like being able to crap art—sounds like a good idea, but ultimately hurts more than it is worth.

Is it the never ending rolling of the Beach Ball up the hill that gets to me?

No.

Is it the birds nibbling at my spleen, only to have my organs regenerate while the birds are digesting?

Again, not really.

The great horror one faces when one turns a thousand is realizing you can't read everything; being forced into deciding which book to read next. What is the average life span today? Two thousand years? Suppose I read one book each day for the rest of my life. That means I will only be able to read another 365,000.

That’s kind of a lot, come to think of it.

Anyway, my thinking was a bit muddled as it was my birthday and so I was conflicted as to which B-Day gift to buy myself. Should I buy The Town That Forgot How to Breathe, a book whose appeal consists entirely in that is endorsed by J.M. Coetzee?

But than I saw a re-issue of a Borges book –one of my favorite authors—and the book with new illustrations—and what’s worse for my decision making, it also is endorsed by J.M. Coetzee.

I made the only choice I could make: I bought the Foo Fighters, "In Your Honor" Double CD set.

I have no regrets. I’ll have time to get to both of those books and 364, 998 others before all is said and done.

As for you, my favorite reader, why bother with books? So much exists on the web.

Oh, look. It's me, Back on top of the world.

Your readers should know that I have been trying, off and on for years to get Justin to express an opinion about some form of music. This Foo Fighters reference is a huge milestone (note that he did not say "liked it" but simply and illusively "no regrets"). If any of Justin's readers have experienced Justin being opinionated about music, please comment (as I still have not gotten him a birthday gift this year).

Thanks for the tip, rachel.

I won't go to see the foo fighters.

Unless you can get me tickets.

Remember when I said I won't go to see the foo fighters?

I was just joking. I can use the stubs of the free tickets to plug up my ears from naughty words.

P.S. Other than books being another kind of media, I felt your ad hominem attack to be something of a non sequiter.

P.P.S. My Latin Skillz are Awesome.
