In Which Justin, the Knight of the Sorrowful Countenance, Tries to Heal Himself.

A writer friend of mine has suggested that instead of just complaining about my life, I ought to grab a newspaper and complain about the state of the world.

So I grab a paper.

And I can't find anything funny, or worth complaining about, happening in the world.

It definately sounds like your in a funk. And not the groovy George Clinton kinda funk either. More like leaving your gym socks in an enclosed space for a week kinda funk.

But I can respect you going for that tortured artist sort of thing. Especially if you start wearing more berets and black turtlenecks.

Comrade K,
Right as always. But it is some consolation to know that up to one person has already responded to my desperate cries for help. j.

So, did you try the crossword in the paper? That might have helped.

Because of my complete failure at crosswords the other day, I am trying to build my vocabulary.

At one word a day, I don't think I will be ready to try a crossword for awhile.

P.S. Today's word is clinchpoop.

Our Prez wants to drill wildlife and you have nothing to say about it?

You really aren't well.

Gloom, despair and agony for thee,
Deep dark depression,
Excessive misery.
If it weren't for bad luck,
You'd have no luck at all!
Gloom, despair and agony for thee.

All you need is a dog with fleas and a rolling pin waving wife with curlers in her hair.

Out of the same substances one stomach will extract nourishment, another poison; and so the same disappointments in life will chasten and refine one man's spirit, and embitter another's. -William Matthews.

Only because that Hee-Haw song was posted already. Brilliant! And also, I hate the hell out of it when people tell me to "smile." Cause it just makes me want to kick them in the teeth. Slog on if you must, J, but maybe get some nourishment out of this time, for healing purposes. Knights need strength.

maleah,
What a great quote. I love william mathews. I used to watch hardball when I had cable. And a television that worked. j.

quilly, I've been trying to stay slightly more positive than Gloom, despair and agony for me.

That's why I've been listening to M.J.'s "Off the Wall." That keeps me going. j.

goldennib, you have to read the article. It does make sense to free us from dependence on foriegn wildlife. j.

Sir,

I feel called upon, by our nebulous relationship, to condole with you in your time of present troubles. I would ask you to look on the bright side, but I fail to see where that is, unless you consider that eradicating these distractions have left you more time to write. Ditto, post. Which is a good thing for your public. Though it may not be necessarily as good for you.

I would urge you to consider the noble line from which you sprung and whine accordingly.

My regards to your dear pappa, mamma, sister and brother-in-law.

I remain sir, your faithful servant (though not in a Curtis way)...

etc, etc.

There is nothing more important in your world, justin, than you. And who should complain about it if not you? So go on and keep complaining... nobody else will...
