Portrait of the Artist as a Modern Day Tolstoy

I have long held that blogging is the ultimate act of narcissism.

Along with that belief is my belief that self-portraits are the ultimate-est act of narcissism.

But I was really hurt by all of the people who thought that my previous self portrait was a cry for help. It wasn’t.

And so I am forced to create another self-image. I am not a bottle. I want you to instead think of me as a kind of modern day Tolstoy. See picture.

(And yes, Jenn. My previous post was an invitation. Too bad you live in micronesia. I don't even know where that is.)

This is definately your better side. Unless you have a side that looks either like Nabokov or Hong-Kong Phooey.

Yeah, too bad I live in Micronesia. Except that I don't. And that mistake is typically American.

And just as my almost crush was developing into a full-blown one - I mean come one, with a self-portrait like that, who could resist you?

I am sure there is some deeper, obscure meaning here that scholars will still be unravelling generations from today.

Phooey!

Great self portrait. What a mess you have there!

Why is your house so messy, Justin?

Dude, get a maid.

So what kind of narcissisit are you to make two self portraits?

:D

Still loving your blog, you narcissistic bastard! I can't even begin to tell you how many times you make me laugh out loud at work when I'm supposed to be working!

I too am concerned with Justin's mess. This could point to an under-lining psychosis. The second self portrait could only be a cover. What he may really be saying here is that he is having a breakdown. This could be his cry for help. By only commenting on the mess and not doing anything active to help we could only be fuelinig his negative feelings.
My suggestion woul be for all loyal readers of Irony to band togerther and intervene before it's too loate.

I hope for the best, but fear the worst.

Hee hee, I'm dying. I've enjoyed your blog for some time. It never lets me down; or should I say you Justin, never let me down. :)

Justin, I think you're starting your own cult, here. I'm sure one of these ladies will clean your damn house.

What's with the Captain Morgan - is that part of your artist persona?

We have freakishly similiar bookcases...

Just passing through and I stumbled upon your very fine blog. Irony...an intriguing concept. I learned all about it from that Alanis Morissette song.

now justin, don't consider this a come-on but I was always told that a sharp pencil was akin to a sharp mind...looking at that messy room...and Leo was kind of a messy guy to...what are you trying to tell us?

Thought you were funny when you said your portrait is like a cry for help. Haha.
