Writing (I)

Being a writer is kind of like being a coin collector. You become interested in what others dismiss as the least valuable exchanges amongst humans; knowing that others might have missed a treasure. And willing to look for that treasure despite the fact that the previous handler of the coin had just picked their nose, and the handler before that actually dropped the coin in the toilet. And some ‘coins’ ,if you will, don’t even have any value, but you do end up getting sick from touching them, because of the sheer number of germs present on each and every coin.

Maybe I should have stopped the metaphor earlier.
