A Metaphor

You know how sometimes you are reading Conceptofirony and you feel like the pages are taking a long time to load and you wonder why the images aren't showing up?

So you call me.

And I'm like, "Well, Mom, I don't know if any of the blogspot sites are designed to run with Windows '88."

You spend a few bucks and get a used copy of Windows '91.

And now you read Conceptofirony and everything runs, not smooth exactly, but better. So much so, that your mind focuses on spelling errors in my blog. "What kind of boy did I raise that you can't tell loose from lose?"

That software upgrade is exactly how I feel as I end my Spring Break Vacation. Sure I'm the same old computer, but I ain't running Windows '88 any more.

I leave tonight and will see you Monday morning.

I can completely relate to this post. My mother corrects my everything, which is why I don't always put the whole story on my blog. : )

Metaphoration is hazardous work: the allusions are slippery; the referents elide.
